Meet Our Founder | Liz B. Latif, PT, MBA
Physical Therapist and Clinician at Yale Health & UC Davis | Founder of Herb Llama®
Where Medicine Meets Mission
Liz B. Latif has walked hospital hallways at sunrise and guided Olympic, professional, and national athletes through recovery by moonlight. For nearly three decades, she has lived at the intersection of movement, medicine, and mission—transforming science into strength and performance.
A licensed physical therapist with deep expertise in pediatrics, orthopedics, cardiovascular care and neurosurgery, Liz brings an Ivy League foundation and elite clinical credibility to Herb Llama®. She is a current clinician at Yale and UC Davis- a well-respected research university, particularly in nutrition, food science, agriculture, and health sciences- who has worked at some of the nation’s top hospitals—including Montefiore Einstein/Burke in New York and Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Southern California.
From Critical Recoveries to Everyday Rituals
Liz’s clinical journey has been shaped by the most demanding corners of medicine. In the ICU, she has stood shoulder-to-shoulder with critical care teams, helping patients navigate recoveries from challenges most wellness brands never acknowledge:
-
Seizures triggered by hyponatremia
-
Muscle breakdown from rhabdomyolysis
-
Potassium and magnesium shifts causing arrhythmias and neuromuscular instability
-
Silent dehydration sabotaging performance and healing
“These weren’t theories—they were lives. Herb Llama® wasn’t born in a boardroom. It was born in the space between a crisis and a comeback.” -Liz B. Latif
Ivy League Science, Everyday Strength
With advanced training in exercise physiology, motor learning, and motor control from Columbia University, Liz translates science into motion and motion into medicine. Whether working with post-op seniors or world-class athletes, she has one guiding belief: supplements should carry the same standard of rigor and trust you expect from the world’s top medical centers, and as accessible as a daily ritual.
That belief shaped Herb Llama: a woman-owned, physical-therapist-founded wellness brand dedicated to clean adaptogens, nootropics, probiotics, prebiotics and superfoods—crafted to fuel bold thinkers, athletes, and everyday achievers.
A Founder Beyond the Lab Coat
Liz is more than a clinician—she is a mom raising a Team USA fencer, a four-time ski champion, a butterfly swimmer, and a Math Mania finalist. Through this journey, she has witnessed that success depends not only on physical ability or intellect, but also on EQ.
What sets her son apart—and what inspires Liz—is his exceptional emotional intelligence (EQ), a quality she believes is essential for thriving in today’s high-pressure world. This same commitment to balance—strength + focus + calm—inspired the creation of Herb Llama’s Zen Warriors Peaceful Bliss™.
A clean, non-habit-forming formula, Zen Warriors Peaceful Bliss™ is designed to support:
-
Resilience in competition, study, or high-stress performance
-
Mindfulness and clarity for athletes, students, and thinkers
-
Calm focus to thrive in today’s fast-moving world
“Excellence isn’t just about medals or grades—it’s about emotional balance. Zen Warriors was created for bold humans who know that calm is a superpower.” — Liz B. Latif
At home, Liz is also a devoted dog mom to a 16-year-old rescue Lhasa Apso, who reminds her daily that longevity, care, and unconditional love are the true foundations of wellness.
Beyond family and clinic walls, Liz is a PADI-certified open-water scuba diver, recreational aviator, and windsurfer—living proof that movement, balance, and boldness are lifelong pursuits.
Why Herb Llama® Stands Apart
Unlike mass-market supplement brands, Herb Llama was forged in the frontlines of critical care medicine and high-acuity recovery—not in marketing meetings. Every product reflects Liz’s 30 years of clinical expertise, designed to deliver elite, intelligent, professional-grade wellness for athletes, entrepreneurs, creators, and everyday humans who demand more than hype.
We Are Humans on a Mission™. And Liz is leading the charge.
