HERB LLAMA | Meet Our Founder

Meet Our Founder
Liz B. Latif, PT, MBA
Physical Therapist at Yale Health | Founder of Herb Llama®

She has walked hospital hallways at sunrise and rehabbed professional, Olympic, and national elite athletes by moonlight. For nearly three decades, Liz has lived at the intersection of movement, medicine, and mission.

A licensed physical therapist with clinical roots in pediatrics, orthopedics, vascular/endovascular, and neurosurgery, Liz brings an Ivy League foundation to Herb Llama. As a current clinician at Yale Health and a former physical therapist at some of the nation’s top hospitals—including Montefiore Einstein/Burke in New York and Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Southern California—she has helped people reclaim strength and resilience after life-altering diagnoses.

Liz holds advanced training in exercise physiology, motor learning, and motor control from Columbia University, a foundation that deeply informs her approach to functional recovery and performance.  Whether working with post-op seniors or elite athletes, she translates science into motion—and motion into medicine.

In the ICU, she’s stood shoulder to shoulder with critical care teams, facing complex recoveries from conditions that rarely make the wellness headlines—seizures triggered by hyponatremia, muscle breakdown from rhabdomyolysis, potassium and magnesium shifts leading to arrhythmias and neuromuscular instability, and dehydration silently hijacking performance ability and recovery.

"This wasn’t theory. It was life. Herb Llama wasn’t born in a boardroom—it was born in moments like these. In the spaces between a crisis and a comeback."

With clinical depth and a restless spirit for wellness, Liz founded Herb Llama to bridge the gap between evidence-based medicine and everyday performance. Each adaptogen, nootropic, and superfood in our lineup is built on her belief: healing belongs in your hands.

She’s not just a health rebel. She’s a mom, a PADI-certified open-water scuba diver, a recreational aviator and windsurfer, and a woman on a mission to bring clean power to bold thinkers, 5 a.m. movers, and everyday achievers.

We are humans on a mission™.  And she is leading the charge.

A FAMILY TRADITION OF ADVENTURE & WELLNESS

Food and wellness have the power to connect generations. Whether it’s the warm memories triggered by the healing scent of home-cooked arroz caldo (ginger rice soup) at our kitchen table or the shared ritual of Pilates stretching, our family has always believed that true wellness is forged by values that feed the mind, strengthen the body, and lift the spirit. From daily walks with our dog to choosing vibrant, nourishing foods, every habit draws us closer to nature’s rhythm and one another.

LIFE IS AN ADVENTURE. LIVE YOURS.
